Religion Divides, Love Unites: By Dr. Harsh K. Luthar

Harsha's avatarLuthar.com

Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, Taoism, Christianity, and other religions and spiritual traditions use different words and concepts to describe the ultimate nature of Reality. Sometimes, the scholars and preachers from these faiths argue with each other over who is right and who is wrong. There are even strong disagreements within the same religion and spiritual tradition about the nature of God or Salvation or Heaven, etc.

Rest in Beauty: By Dr. Harsh K. Luthar

Rest in Beauty.

Rest in beauty
awaken in love.

Myself, yourself
we rise like waves.

Splash and play
on the banks of life.

Sign our names
on this lovely sand
and then back again.

Ocean calls.

This embrace has no beginning or end.

Love, Heart, and Enlightenment: By Dr. Harsh K. Luthar

Love, Heart, and Enlightenment

Sri Ramana Walking Sri Ramana Walking

There is only One Heart

Sri Ramana once said that many advanced souls get liberation after reaching higher planes and that a few rare ones attain mukti (liberation) right here and now. In such cases their Prana along with mind (Kundalini Shakti) gets fully absorbed in the Spiritual Heart and the individual identity is dissolved into Brahman, the Self, the universal Heart and consciousness.

Face of Fullness: By Dr. Harsh K. Luthar

the gate to freedom exists
within the eye of the I.

Harsha's avatarLuthar.com

To accept

There are no free thoughts;
the gate to freedom exists
within the eye of the I.

It may be known
when you are alone
and completely empty.

Or when lovers meet
to spend their passions
and rest in the heart.

Ramana on Psychic Powers: By Dr. Harsh K. Luthar

Harsha's avatarLuthar.com

Today, we see that the New Age spiritual business is literally a circus. There are so many gurus and many different types of “spiritual masters” offering a variety of services and products including enlightenment, super natural miracles, healing, and so forth. This is nothing new and in every age there are such people.

The path of Yoga has many branches, and not all of them are the straight path to Self-Realization.

Bhagavan Ramana

I find amusing that many of the so called “spiritual masters” who claim affinity with Bhagavan Ramana (to bolster their own status) actually teach things which are completely opposite of what the Sage of Arunachala taught.

The Highest Yoga: By Dr. Harsh K. Luthar

Accept everything deeply.

Bless the world and be at peace.

Be aware of your existence.

Remain still.

Be simply aware without judgment.

If thoughts come, be indifferent.

Do this for one minute.

Get the taste of this feeling.

Abiding in this state is the highest yoga, the highest practice, the highest virtue.

Ahimsa and Self-Realization: By Dr. Harsh K. Luthar

Bhagavan with calf

In Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Ahimsa (nonviolence) is considered the first principle of the spiritual life.

Ramana Maharshi, the great sage of Arunachala has clearly stated, “Ahimsa Param Dharma”. Translated this means that nonviolence is the supreme religion.

Perfect Self-Awareness is Ahimsa. Practice of nonviolence with awareness that the same life resides everywhere purifies the mind and allows for the deepest relaxation at the mental, physical, and spiritual level.

Comment on a verse in Ashtavakra Gita: By Dr. Harsh K. Luthar

Harsha's avatarLuthar.com

The nature of the Self is absolute, immutable, taintless. It is not distant, nor is it subject to attainment (being ever attained). This is the Truth. ——-Ashtavakra Gita

Here is my comment on this verse in six sentences.  This is the natural approach to stilling consciousness by being simply aware of awareness with one’s awareness.

To see that, which is obvious, look.

Do not look for anything, and do not look at anything.
