Bhagawan Sri Ramana Maharshi,untill his realization in Madurai, outwardly lead a life of average human being. At his school he is was more interested in games than studies. His performance at school was average. Some of the things noted about Bhagavan are that his sleep was very deep and that he was quite taken by the devotion of the 63 Saivite saints.

At the time of his death experience Sri Ramana did Self-inquiry spontaneously without knowing that it was Self-inquiry. He was witnessing the event of death with full awareness.

Once upon a time in the land of fictional characters created to illustrate certain valuable lessons, there lived a woman named Liberated Sage.

Liberated Sage was one of the few people in the world who had successfully climbed to the summit of the thirty thousand foot mountain called Mount Freedom. She liked the summit so much she decided to stay there and live on the summit permanently.

The Nature of Enlightenment in Advaita

In many Eastern traditions it is believed that once a person is fully Self-Realized or Enlightened, he or she attains complete perfection and becomes omniscient and all knowing about three periods of time (past, present, and the future) anywhere in the entire universe. Sri Ramana used to say that there are so many scriptures, it is hard to read them all. Bhagavan’s view was that once an aspirant understands the essence of the pure teaching of self-inquiry, practice becomes the most critical factor on the path.
