As someone who is herself running a bit too fast these days (and by a bit I mean waaaay too much), I’m fascinated by the concept of self-care as if from a distance. “I will have time for that someday” has been my subconscious dialogue. This state of affairs is of course unsustainable, and this weekend, which I had carved out to continue working, did not go as planned as I had multiple signs from the universe to put on the brakes and slow down.

There is a tetrad of questions a medicine person in a shamanic culture would ask me if I went to them in my stressed out mode: “When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence?”
