Altar for Satya: By Alx Uttermann,

what does it mean, living for the truth?

who among us,
at any turn,
knows clearly enough
what is a star,
what is the sky,

how the light fractures
into millions of rays,
I mean
all of us,

even to understand
what’s ringing true
in the first place?

each of us is given
that solemn & sacred mission
at birth:

find out!

the awkward part
is how nothing important ever
comes at once,

fitted together perfectly
& identifiably

as it should

but through sharing
even a morsel of sky

we know more
of its depth.

find out!

can any one man hold the entire heavens
in his two hands?

a thousand times, not.

the only way to hold the sky
is to become the sky.

the only way to become the sky
is to share the sky.

the only way to share the sky
is to start from the little piece
you can see clearly
from the rooftop
of your own home,

offering it to another.

what does it mean, living for the truth?

find out!
