I hold a special affinity with 2 of the paintings you have on display here::
- Jesus with Animals: When I saw this, I had an overwhelming feeling of being one with nature and its' surroundings. I am an avid animal lover (own 3 cats, 2 birds) and seeing something like that reminds me that the love one has for his/her animals is two-fold. It's not just companionship, but mutual trust and love. How I feel towards my own animals coincides with the painting being mentioned. The part I especially adore about it is that the animal world is not limited to land; the sea creatures are there literally gleaming with happiness to be by Jesus' side.
- Sad Christ holds a real special place in my heart since it's probably one of the most known in modern time. I grew up in a different faith, but I have been to the Greek Orthodox Church on more than one occasion. I find myself humbled every time I view it because it's a constant reminder that as hard as I may have things in my life from time to time, it is nothing compared to the suffering Christ endured to save us all.
I am not too religious, but I have an utmost respect for my faith. I respect other faiths as well as I tend to keep an open-mind, but I have stayed to the faith I grew up in. Thank you for sharing this information with those of us who do not understand the significance of such treasures. Take care.
