Brahman is the cool fire of pure conscious being.From it infinite number of sparks of ego fly and identify with
non-self producing kinchigna(Concept of limited consciousness with malina Sattwa because of
association with the non-self) which is a compound consciousness i.e consciousness associated
with adjuncts.The word adjunct come from the root adjunctus,ad means to,jungare means join.
That is why hindus call this power as Chit-jada grandhi i.e knot which ties consciousness with
the matter.Once consciousness is tied in this manner to the matter by this wondrous power
called mind the unitary consciousness appears as multiplicity due to the action of vikshepa dosha
that is inherent to mind.Once there is multiplicity there is separative feeling with duality,conflict,strife,
sorrow,jealousy etc.The appearance of multiplicity is due to body identity.Unless body identity is
annihilated the delusion of multiplicity and so duality is never lost.To annihilate body identity and to
recognize unicity of Self,Self-inquiry is the only way.
Once we posit in the fire of pure consciousness its spark,the ego is never seen.This is called
manonasa.
