The ocean-girdled maiden Earth’s
Hard, long penance has borne fruit,
Pure Being, glorious Siva Himself,
Embodied in human form as Guru
Ramana of flawless wisdom
Has come to us.
Loss of body consciousness, astral travel, visitation by angels or saints while remaining aware in some form is typical of these experiences. Mental consciousness and sense of individuality is retained in order to have psychic or spiritual experiences.
Bhagavan Ramana used to say, “Ahimsa Param Dharma”. It means essentially that kindness, compassion, nonviolence, and love is the supreme religion. Love is the highest state. As Bhagavan has said, “Love is the actual form of God.”
We have all known those moments of pure transparency triggered by a thing of beauty, or a sunlit sky, or even deep scathing pain- anything that breaks open the shell, when a real ‘I’ has emerged in us out of these thousands of hours of nonexistence.
The wise say that the Tao that can be talked about is not The True Tao. Still Sages such as Bhagavan Ramana manage to indicate the existence of the underlying Reality with words and without words.
